Establishment Good as part of our study of Divine Good and Human Good Phil 1:11 Gal 5:22

In the context of our study of the mandate for believer's prayer in the PPOG. . Phil 4:6; 1Thes 5:17;

We are considering Paul's prayer for the spiritual growth of believers recorded in Phil 1:9-11;

In verse 11 Paul is praying for believers to be filled with the "fruit of righteouseness."

Phil 1:11; having been completely filled up with the production of righteousness [which is the total fulfillment of spiritual progress] which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God

We are examining the phrase "fruit of righteousness" translated from the Greek words (karpon dikaiosune) which is produced in the believer through TLJC under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

We have seen that in the Phil 1:11; passage the production is viewed with regard to the quality of it's character as the “fruit of righteousness,” and in Gal 5:22, the same production is viewed with regard to it's source as the “fruit of the Spirit.”where it's characteristics are also described.

We have looked at the first (5) facets of this production of Righteousness which are Integrity Love (Agape) , The Happiness of God (Chara) , Inner Peace and Overt Prosperity (Eirene), Patience and longsuffering (makrothumia) and kindness, graciousness, generosity, and sensitivity to others (chrestotes).

We are presently studying the sixth part of the fruit of righteousness which is the production of the Spirit in the believer who has the thinking of TLJC through metabolized Bible Doctrine as described by the Greek noun "agathosune", which is from the root "agathos" which means which means to be generous, virtuous and to produce divine good. Divine good has inherent or intrinsic value.

We have seen that Divine good is an absolute concept related to God and his perfection and that Human good is a relative concept related to mankind and imperfection. and that there are (3) categories of good in human history: Human Good, Morality or Establishment Good and Divine Good.

We are presently discussing Moralality or Establishment good as a subset of Human Good and contrasted with Divine Good in human history.

Legitimate authority is defined by God through the Laws of Divine establishment.

Authority in this context is is defined as the power to command, to judge (discern), or to act by a person or persons in whom authority is vested. Authority applies to certain persons having legal power to make and enforce the law, to make policy, or to make decisions.

Under the laws of divine establishment, authority is defined as that legal power, delegated by God, whereby certain persons have jurisdiction over and responsibility for others.

Illegitimate authority is illegal, unlawful authority, usually established by force, and the seizure of power without the lawful right to possess that power. This is authority established by Satan through the function of the cosmic system,.

Illegitimate authority is delegated by Satan as the ruler of this world in three ways tyranny, false doctrine, and power struggles.

When legitimate authority through divine establishment is rejected then Tyranny or Anarchy result.

Tyranny occurs when those in authority reject divine establishment.

Anarchy occurs when those under authority reject divine establishment.

Tyranny often occurs when believers align themselves with illegitimate authority in order to create laws that they believe will improve the morality of society.

When they do this they forget that more laws and making something illegal does not solve the problem. Rom 8:3; People can be controlled by laws, but they cannot be changed by laws.

People have to be changed from the "inside out" through their own free volition and the PMA of Bible Doctrine not from the "outside in" through legalism and tyranny.

Believers are never to coerce others into their way of thinking. 2Tim 2:7; They are to simply speak the truth and allow God the Holy Spirit to so his work. John 16:8-11; Rom 1:16-17;

Anarchy occurs when people throw off all restraints from legitimate authority in order to pursue their own desires. 2Tim 3:2-5;

What makes authority work is human consent, where rational human beings understand the importance of the principle of authority, regardless of whether they personally like it or not.

When we choose for legitimate authority, we are blessed both individually and collectively.

People are always functioning under some type of authority weather they recognize it or not.

There are four areas of legitimate authority defined by God’s Laws of divine establishment which produce moral good, which comes from proper orientation to legitimate authority. Each law is built upon in the establishment it's successor.
