Phil 1:11, Gal 5:22 Patience and Grace, A facets of the fruit of Righteousess that is produced in the believer by God the Holy Spirit.

In the context of our study of the mandate for believer's prayer in the PPOG. . Phil 4:6; 1Thes 5:17;

We are considering Paul's prayer for the spiritual growth of believers recorded in Phil 1:9-11;

We are presently considering verse 11 where Paul is praying for believers:

Phil 1:11; having been completely filled up with the production of righteousness [which is the total fulfillment of spiritual progress] which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God

We are examining the phrase "fruit of righteousness" translated from the Greek words (karpon dikaiosune) which is produced in the believer through TLJC under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

We have seen that in the Phil 1:11; passage the production is viewed with regard to the quality of it's character as the “fruit of righteousness,” and in Gal 5:22, the same production is viewed with regard to it's source as the “fruit of the Spirit.”where it is described in more detail.

We have looked at the first (3) facets of this production of Righteousness which are Integrity Love (Agape) , The Happiness of God (Chara) , and Inner Peace and Overt Prosperity (Eirene).

We are presently examining the fourth part of the fruit of righteousness which is the production of the Spirit is described by the Greek noun "makrothumia" which means patience and longsuffering.

In the context of our study of patience we are considering the timing of God for the believer's life.

Waiting for God's promotion means being faithful in the little things that prepare the believer for greater things. Luke 16:10;

Life is not what we make of it but what we receive in it. 1Cor 15:10; 1Cor 4:7;

Many are unstable due to their unfulfilled lust patterns and ambitions and they therefore become frustrated.

Once in such a state the believer is no longer able to deal categorically with the problems of life by the application of Bible Doctrine from a position of strength inside the PPOG, but instead the believer will react to the circumstances of life in arrogance and emotion from a position of weakness from inside the Kosmic system.

In every situation the believer is always faced with one of two choices:

Humility and the security of God's perfect plan in God's perfect timing, or Arrogance and the insecurity of Man's own quickly put together string of superficial plans in man's timing

Wrong timing is always ultimately related to the believer's wrong motivation and desire to obtain or achieve something in the energy of the Old Nature.

If our lives are to have any lasting significance and purpose it comes the execution of God's will, plan and purpose in his timing.

Eccles 3:1-9; Eccles 8:5; Eccles 8:6a;

Staying in the timing of God requires patience which is a facet of the Righteous production of the Spirit, which Paul prayed for belivers advancing in the spiritual life to be filled to overflowing with. Phil 1:11;

Gal 5:22; Phil 1:11;

The fifth facet of the Righteous production of the Spirit that Paul prayed for believers to have is defined by the Greek noun "chrestotes", which means kindness, graciousness, generosity, and sensitivity to others.

It refers to operating in grace orientation which is the result of the believer's recognition of all that God has freely given Rom 5:8; 2Pet 1:3; Col 2:10;

It is the basis of gratitude to God who has given His Unique Son for us, and now freely gives us all things, Rom 8:32,

The gracious believer who operates in grace orientation realizes that God is the source of all things. James 1:17; John 3:27;

Being gracious means that the believer never forgets where they have come from and they are always grateful and thankful to God for where they're going, Eph 2:11-13.

Because of this, The grace oriented believer expresses gratitude to the Father, Col 1:12,

Because the grace oriented believer has come to know that God is the continuous source of supply of everything the believer has and needs, Phil 4:19; and God will never fail to provide for the believer, Rom 8:32; and that they are what they are by the Grace of God 1Cor 15:10; the believer has the capacity to be very gracious and forgiving of others. Eph 4:30-32;

They appreciate that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus for themselves or others Rom 8:1; Rom 8:34;
