Human Good vs Divine Good in our study of Pauls prayer for believers's to produce Divine Good under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit

In the context of our study of the mandate for believer's prayer in the PPOG. . Phil 4:6; 1Thes 5:17;

We are considering Paul's prayer for the spiritual growth of believers recorded in Phil 1:9-11;

In verse 11 Paul is praying for believers to be filled with the "fruit of righteouseness."

Phil 1:11; having been completely filled up with the production of righteousness [which is the total fulfillment of spiritual progress] which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God

We are examining the phrase "fruit of righteousness" translated from the Greek words (karpon dikaiosune) which is produced in the believer through TLJC under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

We have seen that in the Phil 1:11; passage the production is viewed with regard to the quality of it's character as the “fruit of righteousness,” and in Gal 5:22, the same production is viewed with regard to it's source as the “fruit of the Spirit.”where it's characteristics are also described.

We have looked at the first (5) facets of this production of Righteousness which are Integrity Love (Agape) , The Happiness of God (Chara) , Inner Peace and Overt Prosperity (Eirene), Patience and longsuffering (makrothumia) and "chrestotes", which means kindness, graciousness, generosity, and sensitivity to others.

We are presently studying the sixth part of the fruit of righteousness which is the production of the Spirit in the believer who has the thinking of TLJC through metabolized Bible Doctrine as described by the Greek noun "agathosune", which is from the root "agathos" which means which means to be generous, virtuous and to produce divine good. Divine good has inherent or intrinsic value.

We have seen that Divine good is an absolute concept related to God and that Human good is a relative concept related to mankind. and that there are (3) categories of good in human history: Human Good, Morality or Establishment Good and Divine Good.

We are presently discussing the function of Human Good as an alternative to Divine Good in human history.

We saw last time that Believers were crucified with Christ on the cross through retroactive positional truth, Gal 2:20; and all sins were judged there in the person of TLJC. 2Cor 5:21; 1Pet 3:18; and God was satisfied. 1John 2:1;

But, human good was not judged on the cross it was rejected so that it could continue along with evil as an issue in the angelic conflict.

Human good will be judged and evaluated by the perfect holiness and integrity of God.

For the believers of the Church-age at their evaluation after the resurrection of the church. 1Cor 3:11-15, 2Cor 5:10;

For Old Testament saints and Tribulation martyrs at the end of the Tribulation after the Second Advent of TLJC. Dan 12:2-3; John 5:29; Rev 20:4.

For all all unbelievers at the great white throne judgement where their human good works are evaluated. Rev 20:5; Rev 20:12-15;

All of these passages teach that God will evaluate human good at some point in the future.

Human good will continue in the Millennium to prove that its source is the old sin nature and not Satan.

Human good is totally divorced from the integrity of God therefore it has no capacity to accomplish what it sets out to accomplish. It sets forth bold objectives that sound good to the naturally minded person, Prov 14:12; but it can never fulfill its objectives of improving anything because it depends on the strength of fallen man and the OSN to meet it's objectives. Jer 17:5; Psa 146:3; NET

Human good is the product of the arrogance of the OSN and the cosmic system. Anything related to the OSN or the kosmic system is outside the plan of God.

From God's perspective the OSN is dead and can offer nothing good.

Apart from God believers can produce nothing. John 15:3-6; Col 2:11-12 teach that believers should only accept the divine good accomplished under the filling of the Spirit and reject that which the flesh produces.

The word translated "flesh" in this passage is the Greek word sarx which refers to the OSN. It is referred to in this manner because the OSN resides in the cell structure of the body due to mankinds identity in Adam's spiritual death by first birth. Rom 5:12;

The flesh (OSN) motivates the production of human good and evil which makes up the policy of Satan.

The believer who tries to worship TLJC apart from the filling of the Spirit is like a peddler calling attention to himself. When the believer is out of fellowship with God their spiritual status is zero.

This is why the apostle Paul said in 1Cor 13:1-3; that I can do all those things but when I am living outside of the PPOG what is done is nothing more than human good which from God's perspective is "nothing".

Mankind in spiritual or carnal death has no system of good deeds by which he can impress God. The only good that impresses God is the saving work of Christ on the cross and the utilization of the grace provision in the PPOG established in that work.

Believers must become aware of the fact that their most serious problem is coming under the influence of human good and evil instead of the influence of Bible doctrine,

When they do, they will be delivered once and for all from the sin issue. The problem is not sin because sin has been dealt with at the Cross by the Lord Jesus Christ; our problem in this life is human good and evil.

Human good and evil is a policy and program of Satan and his kingdom that motivates the believer to develop a false sense of morality. It is legalism, self-righteousness, emotionalism, and religion.
