Phil 1:11; Gal 5:22 The Faithfulness of God cont

We are continuing in the study of the mandate for believer's prayer in the PPOG. . Phil 4:6; 1Thes 5:17;

At the moment we are considering Paul's prayer for the spiritual growth of believers that was recorded in Phil 1:9-11;

In verse 11 Paul is praying for believers to be filled with the "fruit of righteousness." which is the result of the believer's PMA of Bible Doctrine which is the mind of TLJC.

An expanded translation of Phil 1:11; having been completely filled up ( perfect tense passive voice )with the production of righteousness [which is the result of advance from the PMA of Bible Doctrine under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit] which comes by means of Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God

This righteousness is produced in the believer by God when the believer is functioning in the spiritual life through the application of Bible Doctrine to experience under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit.

We have seen that in the Phil 1:11; passage the production is viewed with regard to the quality of it’s character as the “fruit of righteousness,” and in Gal 5:22, the same production is viewed with regard to it’s source as the “fruit of the Spirit.”where details of it's characteristics are also described.

We are presently studying the seventh characteristic of this righteous production of the Spirit in the believer who has the thinking of TLJC through metabolized Bible Doctrine as described by the Greek noun "pistis", which in this passage refers to the virtue of faithfulness which means to be trustworthy, reliable, and steadfast.

God's faithfulness to the believer is the basis for the production of faithfulness by God the Holy Spirit in the believer .... the believer's faithfulness is established in the faithfulness of God.

Believers cannot be faithful apart from understanding and living in confident expectation from God in God's grace provision.

We are examining some examples of God's faithfulness to his people in spite of their failures and unfaithfulness that are recorded in scripture for our benefit. 1Cor 10:11;

Last time we discussed God’s faithfulness to Solomon, Elijah and Jonah in spite of their failures. Today we will see God's faithfulness to Peter and start with the examination of how the believer parlays God's Faithfulness toward them into a characteristic of faithfulness as a facet of the Fruit of Righteousness which is the production of the Holy Sprit in the believer.

The Lord prophesied that Peter would deny him 3 times and of course Peter said he would not, but because of the weakness of his OSN and the pressure he was under he denied the Lord 3 times Matt 26:70-75; in spite of this, the Lord remained faithful to him and told him to teach God's people Bible Doctrine once he recovered. Luke 22:32: John 21:15-17;

The Bible is filled with examples of God's faithfulness to believers regardless of their failures because of their application of Bible Doctrine in their lives. Some of the examples are listed as Faith heros in Heb 11:1-40;NET

The greatest illustration we may have of God's faithfulness may be our own experience. How many times have we gotten ourselves into difficulty and the grace and faithfulness of God bailed us out.

How many times have we been worried about the future and the grace and faithfulness of God came through in his perfect timing in spite of our sin of worry and unbelief.

God is always faithful Lam 3:22-23; Isa 40:31. 2Tim 2:13; even when we are not because his faithfulness is based in his own integrity and his own work which he accomplished through TLJC on behalf of all mankind.

We will now examine the process whereby the believer parlays the faithfulness of God into faithfulness as a facet of the Fruit of Righteousness that is built into the believer under the power of God the Holy Spirit.

New believers, as spiritual infants, begin to function in the faithfulness that is the produced in them by God the Holy Spirit by learning about all of the assets that God has freely given them at salvation.

The 39 irrevocable assets which include the grace principles of eternally secure salvation and the Filling of the Holy Spirit as the one revocable asset, which can be recovered by the simple acknowledgement of any known sin.

Cognition of these assets through the metabolization of Bible Doctrine leads to the new believer developing grace orientation.

When the believer has grace orientation, they begin to have humility and come realize there is a protocol for the spiritual life which they are instructed to believe and understand.

When those things are learned through the perception and metabolization of Bible Doctrine, they become a part of the believer's thinking which leads to Doctrinal orientation.

Doctrinal Orientation is the believer's function under the faithful mentorship of God of the Holy Spirit, who leads the humble believer into truth and who enables their application of that truth which is Bible Doctrine. John 14:26;

This faithfulness begins to be established in the believer when they know, understand, believe and recall the promises of God under this mentor ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

Promises such as those recorded in: (Prov 3:5-6;, Psa 37:4-5, 1Pet 5:7;, Psa 4:8, Psa 34:19, Psa 55:22, Psa 56:11, Deut 31:8;).
