Gal 5:22; Phil 1:11 The Faith Rest Drill

We are continuing in the study of the mandate for believer's prayer in the PPOG. . Phil 4:6; 1Thes 5:17;

At the moment we are considering Paul's prayer for the spiritual growth of believers that was recorded in Phil 1:9-11;

In verse 11 Paul is praying for believers to be filled with the "fruit of righteousness." which is the result of the believer's PMA of Bible Doctrine which is the mind of TLJC.

An expanded translation of Phil 1:11; having been completely filled up ( perfect tense passive voice )with the production of righteousness [which results from the PMA of Bible Doctrine under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit] which comes by means of Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God

This righteousness is produced in the believer by God when the believer is functioning in the spiritual life through the application of Bible Doctrine to experience under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit.

We have seen that in the Phil 1:11; passage the production is viewed with regard to the quality of it's character as the “fruit of righteousness,” and in Gal 5:22, the same production is viewed with regard to it's source as the “fruit of the Spirit.”where details of its characteristics are also described.

We are presently studying the seventh characteristic of this righteous production of the Spirit in the believer who has the thinking of TLJC through metabolized Bible Doctrine as described by the Greek noun "pistis", which in this passage refers to the virtue of faithfulness which means to be trustworthy, reliable, and steadfast.

God's faithfulness to the believer is the basis for the production of faithfulness by God the Holy Spirit in the believer .... the believer's faithfulness is established in the faithfulness of God.

Believers cannot be faithful apart from understanding and living in confident expectation from God in God's grace provision.

We are examining some examples of God's faithfulness to his people in spite of their failures and unfaithfulness that are recorded in scripture for our benefit. 1Cor 10:11;

Last time we started our discussion of how the Holy Spirit works in the believer to parlay God's Faithfulness toward them into a characteristic of faithfulness as a facet of the Fruit of Righteousness.

The believer's recall of Bible Doctrine gives them hope or absolute confidence in God and his faithfulness for the believer. Lam 3:21; 1Cor 13:13;

Believers then reach out with their faith through their belief of the doctrine they have recalled to claim the promises of God, in other words, they simply believe the doctrines that they remember that are recorded in the word of God which are established on the faithfulness of God. Matt 24:35; 2Pet 1:19;

The believer's application of the Faith Rest Drill results in faithfulness being developed in them through the power of God the Holy Spirit and the application of Bible Doctrine.

In the Church Age, the faith rest drill is one of the three basic problem-solving devices in the Christian way of life. The other two are acknowledgment of known sin and the filling of the Holy Spirit.

There are ten problem-solving devices available to the Church Age believer but the latter seven cannot function without the consistent utilization of the first three.

It is impossible for the believer to reside and function inside the PPOG without Acknowlement of known sin, The filling of God the Holy Spirit and utilization of the Faith Rest Drill.

Following acknowledgement of any known sin and the subsequent filling of the Holy Spirit, faith rest is a system of problem solving which allows the believer to gain control of any situation.

Faith-rest as a problem-solving device consists of four stages: Faith Perception of Bible Doctrine, Claiming promises, Concentration on doctrinal rationales and arriving at doctrinal conclusions of how the problem-solving devices should be applied to the situation, and, in the case of injustice, the committing of one's case to God the Father for adjudication in the supreme court of heaven. 1Cor 13:5;d Rom 12:19;

Faith perception is the function of the second power option for the believer in the PPOG where the reality of Bible doctrine circulates in the believer's soul. Rom 10:17; and becomes their reality. 2Cor 5:6-7;

It is from this perception of Bible Doctrine that the believer establishes their standard of thinking. Rom 12:3;

The final phrase in this verse is " merizo metron pistis" which tells us that God has "merizo" assigned to believers "metron" a standard of thinking "pistis" from doctrine.

The word "pistis" in this context refers to the body of information which is to be believed, or the truths revealed in the Bible, which define standards that distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil and which establish God's priorities for the believer from Bible Doctrine in the believer's soul.

The Bible, the thinking of TLJC, John 1:1; 1Cor 2:16; is given to us by God as our source of objective rational thought which removes and replaces or cleans out the illusion which comes from the arrogant deception of Satan and his kosmic system. Eph 5:26-27;

The Greek word translated "word" in verse 26 is "rhema" which refers to Bible Doctrine which addresses specific areas in the believer's' life which are cleaned up through their PMA of Bible Doctrine.

Believer's are already "clean" in their position, because of the Baptism of God the Holy Spirit and the Imputed Righteousness of God which occurred at the point of their salvation, John 13:10; but their thinking must be continuously cleaned because of their predisposition to and their continued exposure to the kosmos and it's lies while they are still on this earth living in the devil's kosmos but not of it. John 17:15-20;
