Phil 1:11 Gal 5:22 Promises of God

We are continuing in the study of the mandate for believer's prayer in the PPOG. . Phil 4:6; 1Thes 5:17;

We are looking at Paul's prayers for believers so we can understand what we should be praying for.

At the moment we are considering Paul's prayer for the spiritual growth of believers that was recorded in Phil 1:9-11;

In verse 11 Paul is praying for believers to be filled with the "fruit of righteousness."

This righteousness is produced in the believer by God when the believer is functioning in the spiritual life through the application of Bible Doctrine to experience under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit.

We have seen that in the Phil 1:11; passage the production is viewed with regard to the quality of it's character as the “fruit of righteousness,” and in Gal 5:22, the same production is viewed with regard to it's source as the “fruit of the Spirit.”where details of its characteristics are also described.

We are presently studying the seventh characteristic of this righteous production of the Spirit in the believer who has the thinking of TLJC through metabolized Bible Doctrine as described by the Greek noun "pistis", which in this passage refers to the virtue of faithfulness which means to be trustworthy, reliable, and steadfast.

God's faithfulness to the believer is the basis for the production of faithfulness by God the Holy Spirit in the believer.

The believer's faithfulness is established in the faithfulness of God and the believer cannot be faithful apart from understanding and living in confident expectation from God and God's faithfulness and grace provision.

At this point in our study we are discussing the process whereby the Holy Spirit works in the believer through Bible Doctrine to parlay God's Faithfulness toward them into a characteristic of faithfulness as a facet of the Fruit of Righteousness.

This is possible when the believer learns from their perception of Bible Doctrine under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit what God's word says regarding he promises that God has made to the believer. Rom 10:17;

Last time we started looking at some of the promises that God has made to the various categories of mankind which are defined in. 1Cor 10:32; and we saw some of the promises that God has made to Israel some of which are yet unfulfilled

Paul refers to the riches for the Gentiles in Rom 11:12;

The Jewish rejection of Jesus as their Messiah resulted in riches to the Gentiles who according to God's predetermined plan were brought into the Royal Family of God in the Church Age. God commissioned Paul to be an apostle to the Gentiles so that they could hear the promises of the Gospel. Rom 11:11b; Rom 15:16; 1Tim 2:7 ;

As the apostle to the Gentiles, Paul informs the jealous Jews of Antioch that this is necessary because they had rejected the message. Acts 13:44-47;

Following the birth of the Humanity of TLJC the Prophet Simeon proclaimed both a prophecy and a promise to the Gentiles, quoting the prophet Isaiah in Luke 2:26-32;

Everyone who was born prior to Abraham was a Gentile and many received promises from God. One example of this is the rainbow, God's sign that was given to Noah attesting to the fact that there would never again be a worldwide flood. Gen 9:13-15;

There are promises given to specific individuals but are also extended to all believers as is the case of those given to Moses and Joshua. Deut 31:6 ; Josh 1:5; which are reiterated to church age believers in Heb 13:5b;

There are promises for time and eternity, physical life and the spiritual life, adversities and blessings. 1 Timothy 4:8b ;2 Peter 1:3 ;James 1:12 ;

Peter introduced his second Epistle by speaking of the abundance of promises issued the church age believer and made accessible through knowledge. 2Pet 1:2-4; The Greek word for "partakers" is the predicate nominative of " koinonos" which means: a partner, a sharer, or one who takes part in something with someone. The word translated "knowledge" is epignosis which is information that has not only been conveyed, but has been understood and believed so it is available to be used.

It is through knowledge, grace, power, glory, and the integrity of God that these magnificent promises are made available to be used by believers.

Believers are able to take part in the divine nature through a partnership with God made possible by executing the operational spiritual life of the PPOG under the filling of the Holy Spirit that TLJC pioneered in his unglorified humanity. Heb 12:2;
