Heb 4:12 The doctrine of doctrinal orientation part 5

Lam 3:21-25; I recall this (God's Word of truth) to my mind, and it gives me confidence. Because The Lord's mercy never fails; His grace provisions never cease, they are renewed every morning; Great is Your faithfulness... I therefore have hope in Him. The Lord is good to those who wait silently on Him.

We are presently in a study of the doctrine of winner believers Heb 12:2; Rev 2:7; who are the unknown, unsung heroes of history as God's witnesses in the prosecution of satan and the fallen angels. 2Cor 6:9; and who are the targets of God's grace imputations and one of the reason why God continues to support the human race in the evil adversity of the devil's world. 2Pet 3:9;

God's Word creates capacity for the believer to trust in God to work on their behalf even when they don't fully understand it. Doctrinal viewpoint is what enables the believer to have the patience to wait on God's timing. Isa 40:31; This is how winners are created.

We describe this viewpoint that is based in God's Word of truth as doctrinal orientation.

Doctrinal orientation Is established when the believer believes and places priority on what God's Word aka Bible Doctrine reveals and it begins to circulate in the believer's stream of consciousness and become the basis for their decision making process.

Heb 4:12; "For the word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to separate the soul and the spirit, both joints and marrow, able to evaluate the thoughts and the motivations of the heart."

We noted that the objective for your spiritual life is supergrace blessing from God, not simply provision. God guarantees that he will to keep you alive as long as His plan calls for you to be alive, so He will automatically provide for all of your needs. The point is that this great reward that is being described is not only for the future it is for right now in the devil's world.

When we stopped off last time we were looking at the example of the application of the doctrine of verbal, plenary inspiration in Heb 10:35-38; that tells us that the Jewish believers in Jerusalem in 67 AD were at risk of "throwing Bible doctrine away" as worthless.

V35"Therefore, do not throw away as worthless your confidence, which keeps on having rich distribution of blessing.

The Greek adjective "mega" is translated "great" is an ok translation but not the best one because the word actually means "rich".

The Greek word translated "reward" is "misthapodosa" is a compound word that is made up of "mistho" means wages that describes a monetary payment; and "podidomai" means to give in expectation.

This tells us that we God's Word tells us that God is targeting us with supergrace blessing when we hold on to the doctrine. Remember God always targets doctrine with grace. Psa 23:6;

When these words are put together it means a rich distribution of materialistic blessings. This passage is referring to a materialistic category of supergrace blessings that is available every believer during their life in the devil's world in time,

Remember that not all supergrace blessings are materialistic; some of them such as divine viewpoint thinking, faith rest, and occupation with Christ are spiritual but this passage is referring to a "great or rich distribution of materialistic blessings."

This means that a good translation of Heb 10:35; is "Therefore do not throw away as worthless your confidence in doctrine, which confidence keeps having rich distribution of materialistic blessings."

v36 For you keep on having need of endurance, in order that when you have accomplished the will of God, you may receive what has been promised."

"What has been promised" refers to the exploitation of grace that that occurs when the believer keeps on pressing on in the spiritual advance through their application of Bible doctrine.

The Greek word "gar" translated "for" is used to connect an explanation of why something is happening tells us that we are going to get an explanation regarding why are we here and what are we doing and how to do it.

The answer is that "you have" translated from the present active indicative of "echo" that means to have and hold. The retroactive progressive present means that you have taken hold of it but you must keep on maintaining possession of it.

We possess Bible doctrine; we have God's Word of truth that is a Word treasure that is more valuable than anything else. 2Cor 4:7; because God's Word is God. John 1:1;

We have the promises, the categories, the principles, and the doctrines that reveal the thinking of Christ but we keep on needing something to go along with it.

Heb 10:36; "you keep on having need of endurance" the genitive singular of the Greek word "hypomone" that also means perseverance, patience, persistence and steadfastness.

The Lord Jesus Christ left us His thinking that is a spiritual legacy and a spiritual heritage that is revealed in His Word. And we are to have perseverance toward that heritage that means that once the advance is started we must keep our focus on it because there is no time for looking back. Phil 3:13-14;

The objective is to relentlessly continue the spiritual advance in a disciplined orderly manner. You need to have perseverance and the discipline to take in Bible doctrine today, tomorrow, the next day, the next and the next until God removes you from this planet by physical death or the exit resurrection whichever comes first.

Heb 10:36; " in order that, after you have accomplished the will of God" In this case the will of God is for you to have your thinking transformed by Bible doctrine under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit. Rom 12:2; Titus 3:5;

Your soul must be prepared for the advance in the same way that a person in the military must prepare for combat. To do that "you have need of perseverance and steadfastness" with your positive volition toward Bible doctrine.

The will of God for your life is that you grow up in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to do that you must have perseverance in learning the thinking of Jesus Christ that is contained in His Word of truth.
