Matt 10:34-36;"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

v35 "For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;

v36 and a man's enemies will be the members of his household.

Matt 12:46-50; While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him.

v47 Someone said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You."

v48 But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?"

v49 And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, "Behold My mother and My brothers!

v50 "For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother."

We are presently in a study of satan's cosmic system that is a system of arrogant demonic thinking that is comprised of the lies and deceit from demonic viewpoint that since the fall in the Garden of Eden, apart from God in the darkness of spiritual death that has become the basis of the thinking of the entire human race. 1Cor 2:14; Rev 12:9;

Last time we noted that God is the exclusive source of the power for the spiritual life so all spiritual activity requires the spiritual power provided by God's Word that is received, metabolized, recalled, and applied under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

Recall of doctrine under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit is the application of metabolized doctrine to the various circumstances of life.

Recall is the practical use of doctrine. It is everything that contributes to the function of spiritual growth, the understanding and fulfillment of God's plan by deploying all of the assets necessary to meet both adversity and prosperity while maintaining the same perfect happiness and contentment from sharing the happiness of God, the ultimate problem solving device, in any and all antithetical circumstances. Heb 12:2-3;NET

When believers become involved in satan's cosmic system negative volition toward doctrine functions in two basic categories. Negative volition in cosmic one creates resistance or indifference to Bible doctrine from arrogant preoccupation with self.

Arrogance preoccupation with self can be triggered from a personality conflict with the communicator or self-pity from interaction with other people. In this case the believer is not antagonistic to doctrine, but is simply distracted from it by their own arrogance.

Negative volition in the cosmic two hatred complex is antagonism toward doctrine. Cosmic two hatred has antagonism toward God, God's plan, God's Word, and God's person. Persistent carnality, ignorance, or reversionism will eventually result in antagonism toward doctrine.

Negative volition in cosmic one generally functions as neglect of doctrine based on the distractions of arrogance.

Negative volition in cosmic two functions as rejection of doctrine based on antagonism and hatred of truth that results of unrestrained sinning that creates a perpetual state of carnality, the function of moral and immoral degeneracy and the production of human good and evil.

Motivational arrogance can oppose the content of doctrine or the communicator of doctrine.

Resistance to the content of Bible doctrine is when arrogance is hostile to any Biblical subject that condemns or exposes an aspect of one's preconceived ideas. Resistance to the communicator of Bible doctrine is when arrogance enters into a personality conflict with the communicator..

The conflict arises from the pastor's communication of the Word of God not the pastor's personality. Some find it difficult to get past the personality to the content of the Word but this is made possible by the humility that the ministry of God the Holy Spirit establishes. Phil 2:12-13; 1Cor 2:1-5;

Motivational arrogance can also resist the idea of learning doctrine on a daily basis but often arrogance can actually listen to Bible teaching but when it does it does it for the purpose of either justifying one's self or some erroneous course of action, or by distorting doctrine to suit one's own purposes.

Arrogance also resists doctrine because arrogance always rejects authority. This explains the failure of many believers to comply with God's mandate to "grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." 2Pet 3:18;

Arrogant people abhor the idea of learning in silence because submission to authority requires humility that arrogance doesn't possess.

Scripture addresses this problem with regard to women, but it applies equally to men. 1Tim 2:11-12; "A woman must learn doctrine in quietness and full submission.

v12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."

We see from this that you can't learn and talk at the same time. In this case submission to authority means concentration. This means that to learn doctrine you must not only recognize the authority of your pastor, but also listen with concentration under the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

Not only is a woman forbidden to have authority over men in the pulpit, but also under the laws of divine establishment, the husband is to have authority over his wife, that God established in the Garden of Eden as the second law of divine establishment.

1Cor 14:35b; adds, "It is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church." Quietness for concentration on the teaching of the Word must be motivated by humility for it to be effective because quietness motivated by arrogant resentment will resist and reject all doctrinal communication.

Arrogance rejects the principle of authority and the principle of silence as it relates concentration while listening to authoritative communication.

Silence is defined as no talking, no unnecessary movement, nothing that would be disturbing or distracting to others who are serious students of Gods Word.

Left unchecked arrogance not only rejects doctrine but also becomes a distracter from doctrine.

Arrogance rejects the divine authority of the Word of God and the authority that God's Word delegates to the pastor-teacher for the communication of God's Word.

This delegation doesn't mean that the pastor is absolutely right at all times, but it does mean that he is prepared by the spiritual gift and generally by academic training, as well as by other means whereby God the Holy Spirit prepares such men for the communication of doctrine.

In the end if locked-in arrogance does listen to Bible doctrine it only listens for the purpose of distorting it, ridiculing it and rejecting it.

Arrogance in relationship to God's Word can be very subtle in motivation and very evil in function. 2Tim 3:2-7; is the biography of the walking grenade, the story of the fragmented life.

v2 "For persons (Church Age believers) will be lovers of self (in cosmic one), lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers (abusive), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy (wicked),

v3 without love (virtue-love), implacable (unforgiving), slanderous, without self-control, brutal, opposed to what is good (of intrinsic value),

v4 thoughtless (rash), conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

v5 having an overt appearance (outward form) of godliness (function in divine dynasphere), although they have denied its power (omnipotence of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Therefore, avoid these believers.

v6 For among them are those believers who creep (covertly enter) into homes (local assemblies) and captivate (gain control over) weak- willed women who are loaded down with sins, led on by many different illicit desires,

v7 always learning but never able to come to the epignosis knowledge of truth."
