We are presently in a study of satan's cosmic system that is a system of arrogant demonic thinking that is comprised of the lies and deceit from demonic viewpoint that since the fall in the Garden of Eden, apart from God in the darkness of spiritual death has become the basis of the thinking of the entire human race. 1Cor 2:14; Rev 12:9;
When we stopped last time we were noting the two categories of Christian service that are described in 1Cor 3:11-15;
The categories describe Christian service that is produced when the believer is functioning under God's grace policy inside of God's spiritual power system. versus the Christian service that is produced when the believer is functioning in the arrogance of satan's cosmic system under OSN control of the soul.
There are many things that distract the believer from fulfilling God's plan and the glorification of our Lord Jesus Christ. But one of the most subtle distractions are the human good works that are performed on the basis of the arrogance of Christian service because the believer is working for or in the church.
Believers often become involved in Christian service or in some legitimate Christian organization inside or outside of the local church that causes them to either neglect or become inconsistent in their intake of Bible doctrine.
Once a believer has lost momentum through the neglect of consistent doctrinal inculcation, if they fail to rebound, they enter into satan's cosmic one where they begin to function on the basis of preoccupation with themselves rather than motivation from doctrine under the ministry of the Spirit.
Apart from consistent spiritual advance from the cognition of doctrine, there is no execution of the protocol plan, no distribution of escrow blessings, and no glorification of God no matter how many good deeds or how many acts of service are performed.
The arrogance of works or Christian service is the erroneous conclusion that is the basis of the false doctrine that Christian service and works are the means of fulfilling and executing God's protocol plan.
When works involvement becomes the cause of the of lack of daily perception of doctrine the arrogant believer has substituted works in place of Bible doctrine in their scale of values.
This means loss of right priorities and the inevitable failure to fulfill the mandate of God's plan to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Pet 3:18; Spiritual growth is the product of metabolized doctrine under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.
Divine good works never substitute for spiritual growth because works are never the means of spiritual growth, works are always the result of spiritual growth that is the product of metabolized doctrine.
In Luke 14:11; Jesus said, "Everyone who exalts himself (arrogance of Christian service) shall be humbled (become a loser under divine discipline), but he who humbles himself from (enforced and genuine humility) is exalted by (fulfilling of the protocol plan of God and receiving escrow blessings)."
Arrogance destroys true Christian service; self-righteousness distorts true Christian service. Instead of being legitimate production, it becomes a system of promoting self instead of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Arrogance assumes that Christian service can be substituted for spirituality and for spiritual growth but Christian service is always the result of the filling of the Spirit and of spiritual growth from metabolized doctrine.
When production flows from capacity on the basis of grace the believer is legitimately both a hearer and doer of the Word.
The spiritual gift that God the Holy Spirit gives every believer at salvation will eventually be manifested in some type of Christian service but arrogance destroys the function of one's spiritual gift as well as any other production.
Consistent daily perception of God's Word of truth is the only thing that can maintain proper motivation, guarantee momentum, and maintain the status of genuine humility that establishes capacity for legitimate Christian service that is a product of the application of doctrine.
The arrogant Christian involved in the cosmic system is a "doer" without doctrine. God's Word describes them as "dead works" because the believer has rejected God's grace policy and provision as the basis of their production.
This is what the Jewish believer in Jerusalem were involved in because they had reverted back to the works of the rescinded Jewish ritual plan as the basis for their spirituality after salvation.
Heb 9:14; "How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Heb 6:1; "Not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works."
Christian service without momentum in God's protocol plan is dead works so it is the quintessence of human arrogance to assume that Christian service without the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit and doctrine is acceptable to God.
Arrogance destroys the true priorities of God's protocol plan and substitutes works for grace and doctrine.
The next category of arrogance we will consider is called transference arrogance that is the arrogance that occurs when the person who is in the wrong actually projects their sins failures on others in order to justify themselves and even set themselves up as the victim in the situation.
We have noted arrogance makes everyone a walking grenade with the potential for a fragmentation. All it takes of for the grenade to explode is for the arrogance pin to be pulled.
Becoming involved in transference arrogance is a very subtle and self-deceiving and self-justifying way to pull the pin on the basis of self-righteous arrogance.
The first occurrence of transference arrogance in human history was when Adam blamed the woman, the woman blamed the serpent. Gen 3:12-13; this of course took the projection full circle because satan blamed God.
