Gal 5:1; It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not become subject to a yoke of slavery again.
1Peter 2:16; As free men, do not use your freedom as a cloak for the production of the evil of human good, but use it as slaves of God to produce Divine good.
2Tim 3:1-5; What people do when they use their freedom as a cloak for evil.
Isa 3:12; NIV Youths refers to arrogant teens who are ignorant of truth and women refers to arrogant adults who have rejected truth.
We are presently in a study of satan's cosmic system, a system of arrogant demonic thinking that is comprised of lies and deceit from demonic viewpoint that since the fall in the Garden of Eden, separated from God in the darkness of spiritual death has become the viewpoint of the entire human race. 1Cor 2:14; Rev 12:9;
At this point in our study we are examining the various manifestations of the arrogance complex of satan's cosmic system. We have noted that arrogance creates weakness that makes the unbeliever susceptible to demon possession and the believer susceptible demon influence so arrogance is the point of satan's assault on people's thinking.
When we stopped last time we were looking at 1Cor 11:18-19; where we noted that arrogance is the root cause of all dissension, apostasy and division.
This is what is occurring in our country today and God is in the business of destroying arrogance at the most effective time so it becomes evident to everyone and has maximum impact. I call this snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
Our Lord established the pattern and provided the mandates regarding how to operate in God's power system for the Church Age. But arrogant believers have rejected God's protocol plan and the mandates of our Lord and rejected His authority because of their irrational thinking from emotional arrogance.
Emotional arrogance hinders the believer from the cognition of Bible doctrine that renovates the thinking. 2Cor 6:11-12; "O you Corinthians, we have spoken to you clearly; our (Paul, Apollos, Timothy) thinking has been clearly expressed to you.
v12 You have not been hindered by us, but you have been hindered by your own emotions."
The Corinthian believers were generally very smart people with high human I.Q.s. But the issue for spiritual advance is the spiritual I.Q. that is the product of God's spiritual power system that enables, learning from the teaching of God the Holy Spirit not the ability to rationalize from human I.Q.
The enlargement or broadening of the thinking refers to the Divine viewpoint that had enhanced and broadened the thinking of the doctrinal communicators that had developed from their study and teaching of God's Word of truth under the filling and mentor ministries of God the Holy Spirit.
It was not lack of good Bible teaching that hindered the Corinthian believers, it was their emotional arrogance that hindered them because it caused them to react to and reject God's Word of truth because the truth contradicted their preconceptions. 2Tim 4:3-4; NIV
Emotional arrogance inhibits the acquisition of Divine viewpoint. Emotional arrogance is vulnerable to flattery that encourages believing the deceitful lies and propaganda of the fake news media. Emotional arrogance encourages fear because emotion cannot think under pressure.
On the other hand, perception of the truth of Bible doctrine develops rational thought that creates the capacity to think under pressure and handle the adversities of life with confidence and courage.
Emotional arrogance also produces personality disturbances, called psycho-neurotic disorders. Psycho-neurotic personalities use arrogance to try to deal with stress, but instead of solving stress, they actually manufacture more stress that puts more pressure on their life.
Anxiety from emotional arrogance results in phobic, depressive, and obsessive compulsive reaction.
Emotion has no vocabulary so it has no ability to think that results in no capacity for rational problem solving. Emotion also creates a guilt complex from a false set of values that creates mental pressure that overpowers what little doctrine may remain resident in the soul of the emotional believer.
Drug addiction is a way of enhancing emotional domination of the soul. Drugs are a stimulus to the emotion that depresses rational thought. Because of their emotions drug addicts are irresponsible and cannot cope with the adversities of life in the devil's world.
In our country today emotional irresponsibility from drug use and addiction is the major factor in the homelessness that is endemic in our major cities. Emotional arrogance combined with drug use is a gateway to demon possession among unbelievers and demon influence among both believers and unbelievers.
