14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall.
16 The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.
We are in a study of satan's cosmic system, a system of arrogant demonic thinking that is comprised of lies and deceit from demonic viewpoint that since the fall in the Garden of Eden, separated from God in the darkness of spiritual death has become the viewpoint of the entire human race. 1Cor 2:14; Rev 12:9;
At this point in our study we are looking at satan's cosmic 2 system where irrationality, disillusionment and discontent from cosmic 1 arrogance metastasizes into hatred, hostility, antagonism and opposition to God, God's people, God's policy and God's plan.
Last time we noted that the negative volition of the unbeliever can be classified as negative volition to God at God-consciousness, Rom 1:18-20; or negative volition to Jesus Christ at Gospel hearing, 2Cor 4:3-4;
This helps us to understand something of the believer's negative volition toward Bible doctrine. When believers reject Bible teaching, they enter satan's cosmic system and function just like the unbeliever. 2Pet 2:19-22; 1Pet 2:16;
The believer who rejects doctrine develops blackout of the soul that results in the onset of the stages of reversionism.
Stage 1 of reversionism is distraction, discouragement, disillusion, and disenchantment from believing the demonic propaganda and lies of cosmic one. When a believer begins to reject doctrine, the category of distraction determines the mechanics and function of the reaction that arises from their negative volition.
Negative volition can develop as a reaction to historical trends when the believer doesn't recognize the damaging implications of the zeitgeist created by the historical trends created by demonic influence on the culture.
A good illustration of this is how the democrat party platform has changed over the last 40 years.
Because of their ignorance of doctrine many believers are unintentionally involved with evil that is destructive to our country because they don't recognize the consequences of the demonic assaults that are being made against our constitution and the divine institutions that establish and maintain human freedom.
Stage 2 of reversionism, the frantic search for happiness, follows the trends of the old sin nature either toward asceticism or lasciviousness. Having neglected or turned your back on doctrine that is the exclusive source of happiness, you now look for happiness in all the wrong places.
This frantic search for happiness is based on people, places and things in the devil's world that are totally apart from the execution of the protocol plan of God. This is how people who are negative to doctrine choose their religion. For example they go the church that their parents or grandparents go to or simply because it is nearby.
Asceticism leads to self-righteous legalism, while lasciviousness leads to self-indulgent antinomianism. Both of these distort the Christian way of life. Asceticism often results in emotionalism. Lasciviousness is more obvious because it is manifested by overt sins including drug addition, sexual perversion, and criminality.
The frantic search for happiness never satisfies and it leads to human good and evil in the form of moral or immoral degeneracy. Pseudo happiness provides brief distraction from stimulation, but provides no true happiness or contentment.
The worldwide invasions from floods of illegal immigrants flowing across international borders in our world today are an example of this frantic search for happiness because no matter where these people live they can never acquire happiness apart from God's Word of truth.
God is always looking for positive volition so we need to pray that they respond positively when His Word finds them. Acts 17:26-27; Matt 7:7-8;
Stage 3 is the malfunction from the inability to learn and apply doctrine because of the rejection of rebound that results in failure to function under the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit that is required for the believer to understand God's Word and function inside God's spiritual power system. 1Cor 2:14;
This inevitably results operation boomerang from the intensification of the original negative volition that combines with some form of distraction and preoccupation with self that eventually interlocks with the antagonism and hatred of cosmic two.
So in the first few stages of reversionism there is distraction because of preoccupation with self, but in the latter stages there is antagonism and opposition to God's Word of truth that results in the projection of the blame for one's problems onto others.
This is what occurs at the transition from cosmic one into cosmic two. In our country at this time the demonic communist socialist fascist democrat party expresses this as hatred for God, Christianity, and Christians.
Heb 6:4-6; explains how negative volition in cosmic one functions. The third stage of reversionism finds the believer frustrated by the malfunction from that inability to receiver, retain or recall doctrine under GASP that results in entering into the fourth stage of reversionism.
Stage four is emotional revolt of the soul, Rom 16:17-18; 2Cor 6:11-12; Phil 3:16-19. This is the irrationality of emotion controlling the soul in cosmic one with the result soul has no ability to think rationally or apply correctly. This is where believers get into some form of religious activity related to emotionalism, legalism, ritualism, or asceticism.
In stage five, negative volition, is fully expressed, in cosmic one this is initially expressed as apathy regarding doctrine that then moves into indifference to doctrine, then into reaction to doctrine, and ends with antagonism toward doctrine in cosmic two.
This antagonism is expressed toward the communicator of doctrine and any friends who continue functioning in accord with any category of doctrinal truth. This is why the leftists are so filled with hate and vitriol.
