1Sam 8:7-8; The Lord said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.

8"Like all the deeds which they have done since the day that I brought them up from Egypt even to this day-in that they have forsaken Me and served other gods-so they are doing to you also.

John 15:18-20; "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

20 "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
21 "But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

We are now in a brief study of the public lie and the false narrative that people who are living in satan's cosmic system create to advance their opposition to truth.

Last time we noted the worldwide deception that would occur as a result of the public lie that satan will give to the beast and the false prophet at the beginning of the tribulation.

2Thes 2:9-12; "The one whose coming is in accord with the activity of satan, with all power and miracles and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. Net note 21

v10 And for this reason God sends upon them a deluding influence (or an activity of error) so that they might believe the lie,
v11 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness."

v12 so that that all who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness may be condemned. Net note 25

During the tribulation satan will use the man of sin to proclaim the public lie and God will respond by sending a deluding influence on those who accept satan's public lie so they can be condemned for their rejection of truth.

This is similar to what God did to Pharaoh and the Egyptians when they repeatedly refused to comply with God's mandate for him to "let God's people go." God's response to their negative volition was a means of mass evangelism "so that you would know that I AM the LORD. Exod 10:1-2; Joshua 2:8-11; Gen 50:20; Psa 76:10; 2Cor 13:8;

The man of sin will achieve and maintain his power through the use of the false narrative of the public lie. Those who do not love God's Word of truth (believer and unbeliever) will be very easily deceived and sucked into believing the public lie.

This disregard and discrediting of truth is a continuous trend of human history that becomes the basis for the perpetuation of warfare throughout human history because God makes war against the arrogant and God uses warfare for the purpose of destroying evil in order to preserve and perpetuate the human race.
