Isa 50:7-8; For the Lord God helps Me, Therefore, I am not disgraced; Therefore, I have set My face like flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

8 He who vindicates Me is nearby; Who will contend with Me? Let us confront each other; Who accuses me? Let him challenge Me.
9 The sovereign Lord helps me. Who dares to condemn me? They will all wear out like clothes and the moth will eat them up.

Matt 26:59-63a; Now the chief priests and the whole Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.
60 They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward,

61 and said, "This man stated, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.' "
62 The high priest stood up and said to Him, "Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?" 63 But Jesus kept silent.

Last time we started a study of the doctrine of evil that is the function of satan's lie that operates in opposition to righteousness that is the function of God's Word of truth.

We noted that whenever the mental attitude sin of self-righteous arrogance combines with human good and sincerity that is motivated by guilt a nation becomes saturated with evil.

The principle is that if satan as the ruler of this world is not capable of ruling the world he controls then it is not possible for man to rule it either. This is why mankind's problems cannot be resolved by the application of human solutions.

The imputation and function of God's perfect righteousness that is the application of God's Word of truth is the only solution to the problems of life.

Evil is the function and innovation of those who are consistently involved in the public lies that satan's cosmic system creates.

Evil is the adverse trend of society that results in the destruction of society, the malfunction of society, and the removal of legitimate authority and its function on the basis of the laws of divine establishment that are revealed in God's Word of truth.

Grace and truth represent the genius of God in his relationship to the human race and evil represents the genius of Satan in his relationship to the human race.

Because the Church Age is the intensified stage of the angelic conflict the believer's thinking is the battleground where this war of opposing ideas rages.

This means that what believers think and why they think it is far more important than most believers understand or realize. Prov 23:7a; Rom 8:6-8;

We see from this that there are two ways of thinking. Divine viewpoint is thinking God's Word of truth that glorifies God and Christ. Human viewpoint is thinking demonic evil that dishonors God and Christ.
