Prov 16:18; Arrogant self-confidence goes before destruction, And an attitude of arrogant superiority before disaster.

Jer 17:5-8;Thus says the Lord, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord.
6 "For he will be like a bush in the desert And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt without inhabitant.

7 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord.
8 "For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.

Isaiah 14:12-15(NET) Look how you have fallen from the sky, O shining one, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O conqueror of the nations!
13 You said to yourself, "I will climb up to the sky. Above the stars of God I will set up my throne. I will rule on the mountain of assembly on the remote slopes of Zaphon (Mt Olympus). 14 I will climb up to the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High!"
15 But you were brought down to Sheol, to the remote slopes of the pit.

Psalm 76:10; For the wrath of man shall praise You...

Genesis 50:20; (NET) As for you, you meant to harm me, but God intended it for a good purpose, so he could preserve the lives of many people, as you can see this day.

1Corinthians 11:18-19; (NET) For in the first place, when you come together as a church I hear there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.
19 For there must in fact be divisions among you, so that those of you who are approved may be evident.

1Peter 2:16; Live as free men, and do not use your freedom as a cloak for evil, but use it as God's slaves.

Rom 13:1-10; Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;
4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.
5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience' sake.

6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
7 Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

9 For this, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Heb 4:12; For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thinking and motivations of the heart.

Isa 28:16;Therefore thus says the Lord God, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be in a panic.

We are presently in a study of the doctrine of evil that is the product of believing the false narrative of the public lie that satan, the god of this world, fabricates and asserts in his war against truth and righteousness. Eph 6:12; 2Cor 10:5;

We are now noting the 26 gates that lead into the arrogance of satan's cosmic one system. When we stopped last time we were noting the arrogance of disillusion that is also known as iconoclastic arrogance or the feet of clay syndrome begins when you put someone on a pedestal. Then when their feet of clay shows, you become disillusioned and react against whatever they represent.

In other words, arrogance creates an idol of enchantment and illusion, but when the idol is shattered, arrogance is shocked and distracted and becomes disoriented to reality.

When this occurs the arrogant creator of the idol seeks to destroy the idol, a revenge in which the person can only gain his self-respect by destroying the thing that has allegedly destroyed his self-respect.

The illusion that was created by arrogance is then destroyed by arrogance.

The arrogance of morality is the self-righteous arrogance of superimposing false standards of morality on others. People focus one moral thing so they can rationalize and say they are better than everyone else in that area. This is superimposing a false standard of morality on others or taking a true standard out of its context.

Morality is designed to protect human freedom. A spiritual believer is moral but a moral unbeliever cannot be spiritual.

The arrogance of emotion is irrationality. Arrogant people stop thinking and so their emotion becomes their substitute for thought. This is total preoccupation with self related to emotion. Knowledge is the environment for thinking. Bible doctrine is the environment for decisions. Emotional arrogance fantasizes and therefore collapses under pressure.

In the arrogance of pseudo-generosity, a person gives because of a desire for attention, approbation, or to buy friendship or happiness as in the case of Ananias and Sapphira. Acts 5:1-10; 2Cor 9:7; teaches that genuine generosity is based on one's thinking.

The arrogance of Christian service occurs when believers substitute Christian service for spirituality because their rejection of doctrine has caused them to lose momentum in their spiritual life. When this occurs. Christian service becomes a distraction to momentum.

Spiritual production is a result of growth, it is never the means. The perpetuation of Christian service while in the cosmic system is the basis for arrogance of Christian service because arrogance mistakes Christian service for spiritual growth and momentum.

The arrogance of discouragement is preoccupation with self when under pressure and testing. Unexplained disaster tempts the believer to feel sorry for himself. Being maligned, treated unfairly, or facing the death of loved ones are the kinds of disaster or pressure that bring this on. An example of this is found in 1Kings 19:9-10; where Elijah was hiding from Jezebel after he killed the prophets of Baal.

The arrogance of lust occurs when legitimate desire is linked with arrogance. Inordinate desire is lust. Desire is not wrong, but lust is. Lust is arrogant preoccupation with one's desires.
