I found the passages regarding light and darkness in the eternal state that I was looking for last time. Rev 21:23-25; Rev 22:5;
John 8:44-45; "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 "But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me.
2Cor 4:3-4; And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Rev 12:9; And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
2Tim 3:12-13; Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
13 But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
2John 6-8; And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.
John 3:19; “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
We are presently in a study of the doctrine of evil that is the product of believing the false narrative of the public lie aka darkness that satan, the god of this world, fabricates and asserts in his war against God's Word of truth aka light. Eph 6:12; 2Cor 10:5;
We are noting the 9 gates that lead into the hatred of satan's cosmic two system. When we stopped last time we were noting religion with its ritualism and legalism that is Satan's counterfeit for God's grace policy and plan.
Last time we were noting that in historical downtrends emotional revolt of the soul takes over. Normal emotion responds to doctrinal and cultural norms and standards. It responds to doctrine in the soul, establishment principles and it recognizes authority.
But emotional revolt means rejection of all authority. This sets up a vacuum in the soul that sucks demonic evil into the soul. Evil in the left lobe of the soul produces scar tissue of the soul and evil in the right lobe of the soul produces hardness of heart. This is why people become implacable. Eph 4:17; 2Tim 3:6-7;
When a person has no doctrinal or establishment frame of reference in their thinking the only alternative is demon influence. This is why people who have rejected God's Word of truth get caught up in crusades that focus on doing some kind of human good in the devil's world that becomes the basis of their production of evil.
Every generation has to choose between God's grace policy as it is represented by the Jesus and the cross, and satan's policy of do gooder human good and evil.
This issue has never left the human race. God, in his genius, has perpetuated the issue of free volition throughout the entire human race for the entire course of human history.
Therefore, the issue that every individual member of God's royal family faces is: am I influenced by doctrinal truth or by the evil lie? This is the exact same question that the first man and woman faced in the Garden of Eden. Gen 2:16-17;
The doctrinal principles of God's Word of truth are acquired and deployed on the basis of grace and truth. John 1:14-17; The false doctrine and propaganda of satan's evil lie is acquired and deployed on the basis of arrogance and hatred. John 8:44;
The application of God's Word is humility and the application of satan's lie is arrogance. The tension that exists between these two antithetical positions is described in the following passages:
Prov 11:18-19, Prov 14:22, Prov 15:3, Prov 16:6, Prov 22:3, Prov 24:1-4; Eph 5:16; 2Thes 3:2-3; These passages present the following principles:
Divine omniscience provides discipline for evil and blessing for doctrine.
Thinking you are an exception to this and are an island unto yourself is in itself evil.
