Matt 15:1-20; Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,
2 "Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread."

3 And He answered and said to them, "Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
4 "For God said, 'Honor your father and mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.'

5 "But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God,"
6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

7 "You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:
8 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.
9 'But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.' "

10 After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, "Hear and understand.
11 "It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."

12 Then the disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?"
13 But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.

14 "Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
15 Peter said to Him, "Explain the parable to us."
16 Jesus said, "Are you still lacking in understanding also?

17 "Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated?
18 "But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.

19 "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
20 "These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man."

Phil 4:6-9; Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

In our study on the judgment seat of Christ based on Rev 2:11; we took up a study of the doctrine of death were last time we concluded our study on physical death and were noting spiritual death that is the predicate for all categories of death.

We noted that because our Lord remained perfect for the entire time that He was bearing and being judged for our sins, His unique spiritual death is classified as substitutionary. Rom 5:8;

This is why the only way to salvation is through faith in Christ. Helplessness can only appropriate the solution by faith because faith is the only non- meritorious system of perception. Merit in faith is totally dependent upon the object of faith, that for salvation is Jesus Christ.

This is why one's attitude toward Jesus Christ and His true identity as the Son of God is what determines one's eternal destiny. John 14:6;

The spiritual death of Adam is the subject of Gen 2:17; Gen 3:1-6;'and 1Tim 2:13-14; The distinction between Adam's original sin and the woman's original sin is the subject of the parenthesis in Timothy that explains why the old sin nature is passed down from the man.

The Spiritual Death of the Human Race is discussed in Eph 2:1a, "And although you were dead..." takes us back to the pattern of God's grace in providing for our helplessness from our spiritual death.

The spiritual death of the human race is also mentioned in Rom 5:12, "Therefore, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered the world (Adam's original sin) and (real spiritual) death through that sin, so (real spiritual) death spread to all (mankind), because all (mankind) sinned (when Adam sinned)."

At the point of our physical birth, Adam's original sin is imputed to our genetically formed old sin nature for condemnation, because condemnation must precede salvation.

The reason why Adam's original sin is passed down, and not the woman's original sin, is because Adam willfully sinned, because he knew what he was doing.

This is why the twenty-three male chromosomes that fertilize the twenty-three perfect chromosomes in female ovum carry the old sin nature. This is how the old sin nature is genetically formed and genetically propagated.

Both the man and the woman are carriers of the old sin nature, that resides in every cell of the human body. But the old sin nature is propagated through the man. Only the twenty-three chromosomes in the female ovum are perfect because they are not contaminated with the old sin nature.

The only way a person could be born perfect into this world was the way our Lord's humanity came into this world. A virgin pregnancy cuts off the transmission of the old sin nature because no fallen human male chromosomes are involved.

The omnipotence of the Holy Spirit provided twenty-three perfect male chromosomes to fertilize the female ovum in Mary's virgin pregnancy. At the point of birth,

God the Father imputed life to our Lord's human soul, but He did not impute Adam's original sin because Jesus' physical body had no old sin nature to impute it to.

As a result Jesus was born directly into God's prototype spiritual power system, where He remained throughout His life on earth. Matt 1:20-21; "Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for that which has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. And she shall bear a son..."

So real spiritual death is the affinity between Adam's original sin and the genetically formed old sin nature. Since we are born with the old sin nature, Adam's original sin gravitates to it and it is the basis of the condemnation of the entire human race.

The imputation of spiritual death is a manifestation of God's infinite wisdom.

Since condemnation must precede salvation, God's grace condemns everyone at birth so that all those who die physically before becoming accountable are automatically saved and everyone who does become accountable can be saved on the basis of the imputation of Gods perfect righteousness on the basis of grace through faith when they express personal belief in Jesus Christ.

Because our Lord's humanity in Hypostatic Union was impeccable Jesus was qualified to go to the cross and suffer the forensic substitutionary spiritual death.

Isa 53:6c; "Therefore the Lord (omnipotence and justice of God the Father) has caused to fall on Him (substitutionary spiritual death of Christ on the cross) the punishment for our sins."

1Pet 2:24; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Rom 5:8; But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

2Cor 5:21; He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
