The book of Romans part 66, Rom 1:25;

In our verse by verse word by word study of Romans we are in Rom 1:25; where we were noting that the word "exchanged" is another constantive aorist, that gathers into one entirety the reversionistic process that leads into sexual perversion.

The active voice: the unbeliever in this case produces the action of the verb. The indicative mood is declarative for the dogmatic statement of fact that they traded doctrinal truth for satan's lie that resulted in perversion.

"The truth of God" is the good part of the exchange. The accusative singular direct object from the noun "aletheia" that means truth in the sense of God's Word of truth or doctrine. In this context it refers to that portion of doctrine that the unbeliever can understand when he hears the gospel under the common grace ministry of God the Holy Spirit

Plus the possessive genitive from "Theos;" referring to the doctrine of "the God." Again the English translations leave out the article "the" that specifically refers to Jesus Christ as "the God."

Remember reversionism always exposed to truth first but after hearing and understanding truth rejects it. The truth always comes first because the lie is always a distortion of the truth.

The reversionistic unbeliever that is being described in our passage has heard the gospel and has understood the gospel through the common grace ministry of God the Holy Spirit but they have chosen not to believe it.

"Into a lie" the preposition "en" plus the definite article plus the locative singular of "pseudos" refers to false satanic doctrines. "Pseudos" refers to error, false assertions and lies so it refers to the whole system of evil propaganda that changes a person from normal to abnormal.

The transliteration of "pseudos" is pseudo or fake with the result that evil becomes the thinking and perversion and criminality is the action that is caused by that thinking.

This is precisely what has happened in the USA over the past 60 to 100 years and gone into overdrive over the last 20 years.

The results of this evil thinking "and worshipped" the aorist passive indicative of "sebazomai," a deponent passive verb form that has an active meaning so it means to show reverence or respect.

Originally it had the connotation of a scale of values, and what is high on your scale of values you respect or worship. This is another constantive aorist tense that gathers the reversionist's worship of satan up into one bucket.

Whether he knows it or not he worships satan or something satan provides, like perversion or criminality. The passive voice of the deponent verb is active in meaning so the reversionistic unbeliever produces the action. The indicative mood states the fact from the viewpoint of actual reality.

"And served" the aorist active indicative of "latreuo" that refers to the ritual of worship. It includes everything from human sacrifice to the phallic cult. The original connotation of the word was to happily serve in response to respect in the soul, but it end up referring to satanism and demonism.

Again the aorist tense is a constantive aorist, that gathers into one entirety every act related to demonism, human sacrifice, the satanic mass, and any other ritual related to the cultic worship of satan.

"Latreuo: is used here for the worship of satan. Idolatry was one of the places where they always started homosexuality, bestiality, incest, and child sacrifice.

"The creature" the dative of indirect object, dative of disadvantage of "ktisis" that refers to the worship of satan. He is the creature referred to here, the original creature from God. Anyone who worships the creature is disadvantaged.

The next word "para" is correctly translated in the NASB as "rather than the creator" (the Lord Jesus Christ). The KJV translates it as "more than" but that is not the best translation.

"Para" plus the accusative has one meaning whereas para plus other cases has a different meaning. Para denotes a comparison. It is used here as a preposition of comparison so it should be translated "rather than" or "instead of."

There is a mutually exclusive concept that is not expressed by the "more than" of the KJV translation. The articular aorist active participle "ktidzo" translated "creator" refers to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The articular participles when not accompanied by a noun often functions as a substantive so instead of giving it a participial verbal concept we will give it the substantive noun concept and simply call it "rather than the creator."

One person of the Trinity is described specifically as being the creator of the universe. The Lord Jesus Christ is said to be the creator of all things in John 1:3; Col 1:16; Heb 1:10.

Instead of using Jesus' title as Lord and Savior in this passage Jesus Christ is given title "Creator."

The articular participle used as the substantive includes a title that the unbeliever can understand. God-consciousness gives the unbeliever understanding of God as creator.
