Outside of the garden Jesus' work on the Cross becomes the only issue for salvation

In our study of Gen 3; where we see Satan's propaganda that lead to the deception of the woman and the fall of mankind last time in Gen 3:20-21 the Adam and the woman accepted God's solution for their sin and their non- meritorious expression of faith in Christ as He was revealed resulted in eternal salvation.

The coats of skins were animal skins taken through the shedding of blood that was analogous to the spiritual death of Christ on the Cross Eph 1:7; Heb 9:22; 1Pet 1:18-19;

Like the innocent animals, Christ, the innocent One, had to suffer and die for the guilty. His spiritual death paid the penalty of man's spiritual death Rom 6:23; 1Pet 2:24;

The coats of skins replaced the fig leaves of human righteousness and good deeds Isa 64:6; Tit 3:5;

Ultimately every member of the human race will stand before God and be judged in one of the evaluations. All human good works as represented by "fig leaves' will be burned up. Only those who wear the righteousness of Christ, 2Cor 5:21; pictured by the coats of skins, will avoid being cast into the lake of fire. Isa 61:10; Rom 3:22-25; Rev 20:15;

Gen 3:22-24; And the LORD God said, Now that the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever:

v23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

v24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden to prevent them from accessing the tree of life. The tree of life could not provide forgiveness of sin nor imputed righteousness; the tree of death, the Cross, could only provide this.

The Cross is the sole issue of salvation. By man's expulsion from the Garden, the cross remained and continues to remain the volitional issue to the human race.

The tree of death, became the only means of eternal life because it is entirely the work of God. None of man's works are involved with the cross. This is the principle of Grace. Salvation depends exclusively on the work of God, never on man's works.

If fallen man were to remain in the Garden, his volition could not be tested so it was imperative that the tree of life be beyond man's reach.

For the curse to be turned into blessing, man must be kept from the place where he could perpetuate the curse. All vestiges of sin and the curse must be removed, and this could not be done had man continued forever in a state of sin in the Garden.

To live forever in a state of sin with an old sin nature would be the greatest disaster possible for the human race. Satan would like nothing better because in that situation there would never have been an opportunity for man to have fellowship with God, and the devil and his angels would have escaped the Lake of Fire.

Man cannot enjoy perfect environment apart from eternal fellowship with God so salvation must precede perfect environment for the human race. Because of the expulsion of man from the Garden, "where sin abounded, grace did much more abound" Rom. 5:20;

So God turns the curse into a blessing because man gains through grace. As a result of regeneration, man will occupy a position higher and better than that which he had previously possessed in Eden. Heb 1:13-14;

While the expulsion turned disaster into the greatest possible potential happiness for man, man would not be freed from Satanic attacks because he would be living in the devil's world.

Always crafty and deceitful, Satan would become bolder and more diversified in his attempts to lure mankind into his camp. In his pride, the devil never stops trying to prove God wrong, and he uses both believers and unbelievers as useful idiots in his warfare against God.

Every person who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior is engaged in this spiritual warfare weather they know it or not. They are engaged on three fronts: the world's system, the flesh (OSN) and the devil (demonic viewpoint).

In any military situation, there is great advantage when we understand the strategy of the enemy. The world's system as our enemy is found in 1John 2:15; 16, and Romans 12:2; The true Biblical concept, worldliness is a mental attitude which excludes the Person of Jesus Christ.

Contrary to what most people think, worldliness is not simply an overt act of amorality. It is any mental attitude that fails to see life from the standpoint of divine viewpoint and Bible doctrine.

This means that you can actually be sitting in church thinking you are doing good and be worldly. Many believers are worldly without realizing it, simply because they do not know enough doctrine to have divine viewpoint. Human viewpoint thinking is "worldliness".

The flesh Rom. 7:18; Rom 8:8; Gal 5:16-19; is the inherent sin nature.
