In our study of Mark we are in Mark 4:40-41; where we see the cognitive difference between Jesus and His disciples. His disciples were panic stricken in the storm but Jesus calmly commanded it to "shut up."

Based on this we took up a brief study on the doctrine of the four spiritual mechanics for applying doctrine to experience and having cognitive invincibility. When we left off last time we had just started so I'll go back for a brief review.

We saw that a mechanic is the science of how things work or function it is the science of determining the way forces impact a system. It is a science that deals with the action of forces and their motion within a system. It is the science of how moving parts of a system function together in order to fulfill a specific objective.

It can also be used to describe the development of a skill or the ability to do something proficiently as a result of perception, practice and application. For example mechanics are part of the process of learning the skills that are necessary to play a musical instrument, drive a car or motorcycle or fly an airplane.

In our study, the term skill is used to describe how the three spiritual mechanics of the Christian way of life are developed in believers so they can participate in their role in glorifying God by executing God's plan, will, and purpose in the Church Age.

Mechanics can be used to describe God's grace system that creates the spiritual life of the believer, that is comprised of the assembly of the moving parts of the plan of God that He designed to accomplish His purpose, will and plan for the Church Age. Eph 2:10;

Therefore, mechanics is the sum total of how the moving parts of the spiritual life function to accomplish motion toward the four objectives of God's plan for the Church Age. 2Pet 3:18; Four spiritual mechanics can be used to describe this process.

The first spiritual mechanic is the two power options that are used to acquire and deploy the information that is necessary to function in God's system.

The first power option is the filling of the Holy Spirit, in which God the Holy Spirit controls your soul. This is the divine power that enables the plan to function. Until the Church Age there was no mandate to be filled with the Spirit, there was no indwelling of the Spirit, and there was no filling with Christ by means of the Spirit.

In the Old Testament there was a ministry of Spirit called enduement that was given to less than one percent of all Old Testament believers. God the Holy Spirit was given to the human authors of the Old Testament,

This included men like Abraham, Moses, Saul, David, the Judges, and the men who built the Tabernacle and the furniture in it. If they committed certain sins they lost the enduement of the Holy Spirit, as was the case with Saul.

The second power option is the mechanic for the perception and metabolization of Bible doctrine. This begins with the pastor- teacher teaching Bible doctrine. If the believers are positive to the doctrine that is being taught, then the Holy Spirit teaches their human spirit.

The result is academic understanding of doctrine described by the Greek word "gnosis". When you understand doctrine academically, you can then make a decision to believe or not to believe it.

If you believe what is taught, God the Holy Spirit sends that doctrine into the stream of consciousness of the right lobe of the soul where it is described by the Greek word "epignosis". and the doctrine is now metabolized and usable for decision making.

The two power options enable the believer to acquire and use the power from God the Holy Spirit and the word of God for the function of the protocol or power plan of God.

When the enabling power for the spiritual life (the filling of the Spirit and metabolized doctrine) are properly used, then the components of God's system produce motion, energy, and action that result in spiritual advance. 2Pet 3:18; This advance leads to spiritual maturity and the contentment of cognitive invincibility. Phil 4:13;

Every Church Age believer has this spiritual life, that operates exclusively on God's power. This means that there is no spiritual life until these two power options are used. There is no place for human power, human talent, or human works in the execution of the spiritual life for the Church Age.

Any attempt to compromise God's power by adding human works contaminates the system and the components of the spiritual life do not function.

An analogy can be made between the spiritual life and the function of an automobile engine. The automobile engine transforms chemical energy into mechanical energy. The chemical is gasoline or diesel fuel that when combined with the correct amount of air under pressure explodes in the cylinder that moves the piston,

The piston is connected to a crankshaft that transforms reciprocal motion of the piston into rotary motion that through a transmission of some type turns the wheels of the car. The filling of the Spirit is analogous to the air and the gasoline is analogous to Bible Doctrine.

If something contaminates the fuel or stops the flow of air to the engine it does not work. Just like the automobile engine cannot function without the exactly correct mixture of fuel and air the spiritual life can never operate without the combination of the Filling by means of God the Holy Spirit and Bible Doctrine.

Another analogy is the human body has moving parts that also require energy. The chemical power that runs the human body is food that has been metabolized. Food is therefore analogous to metabolized doctrine circulating in the stream of consciousness. The air that is breathed in is used for the processing the chemical energy from the food is analogous to the function of God the Holy Spirit.

If the air is restricted or the food is contaminated the human body dies just like if the doctrine is contaminated or the Holy Spirit's ministry is quenched or grieved the spiritual life dies.

The second spiritual mechanic is the function of three spiritual skills. The filling of the Holy Spirit is not only the energy and the power for the spiritual life, but it is also a spiritual skill. Bible doctrine circulating in the stream of consciousness is not only a power option but is also a spiritual skill. They are skills because they are something that is taught, learned and practiced.

The filling of the Spirit and metabolized doctrine circulating in the stream of consciousness combine to form the basis for the formation of the third spiritual skill that is the formation of problem solving devices as a main line of resistance in the soul.

The third spiritual mechanic is the deployment and application of the ten problem solving devices as the main line of resistance in the soul. The three spiritual skills result in the deployment of the ten problem solving devices.

The ten problem solving devices are: self examination and the acknowledgement of known sin., the filling of the Holy Spirit, the faith-rest drill, grace orientation, doctrinal orientation, a personal sense of destiny, personal love for God the Father. impersonal love for all mankind, sharing the happiness of God, and occupation with Christ.

These ten problem solving devices become operational only when we use the two power options and function under the three spiritual skills.

The forth spiritual mechanic is the execution of the protocol or power plan of God through the three stages of the adult or sophisticated spiritual life. There are four spiritual objectives in the execution of the power plan of God. There are two tactical objectives and two strategic objectives.

The first spiritual objective is also a tactical objective. The first tactical objective is spiritual self-esteem or a personal sense of destiny. A tactical objective becomes the base of operation for a strategic objective. Just like the landing at Normandy on D-Day 6/6/1944 became the basis for defeating Hitler in Europe.

Spiritual self-esteem plus cognitive self-confidence or doctrine circulating in your stream of consciousness form the tandem problem solving devices of personal love for God the Father and impersonal love for all mankind.

Spiritual self-esteem plus metabolized doctrine plus providential preventative suffering produce spiritual autonomy. Spiritual autonomy plus cognitive independence from doctrine circulating in the stream of consciousness plus sharing the happiness of God plus passing momentum testing attains the second tactical objective.

The second tactical objective is spiritual maturity that becomes the base of operations for attaining the strategic objectives.

The first strategic objective is occupation with Christ. A personal sense of destiny plus spiritual maturity results in the deployment of problem solving device of occupation with Christ. This requires maximum Bible doctrine circulating in the stream of consciousness that enables cognitive invincibility.

The second strategic objective is maximum glorification of God. Occupation with Christ plus passing evidence testing produces attains the second strategic objective. At this point the believer is an invisible hero, a winner believer, and a witness for the prosecution of Satan and the fallen angels that declares their doom. Matt 25:41;

These four spiritual mechanics are given to every believer in the Church Age and qualifies them under equal privilege and equal opportunity to be witnesses for God against Satan in Satan's appeal trial. Only a few believers make it to the witness stand in each generation.

Any believer who persists in functioning under quenching and grieving of God the Holy Spirit fails to execute the power or protocol plan of God and fails to receive the transfer of the escrow blessings from God at the evaluation after the exit resurrection.

The greatest power demonstration from born again human beings comes in the Church Age. It is a far greater principle that we use than has ever been used before. The ordinary believer in the Old Testament never had these resources because Jesus Christ was the first one to have them.

The greatest people in all of history are the ordinary believers of the Church Age who learn and use these mechanics. You have the greatest opportunity for greatness and capacity for happiness and contentment in history regardless of your circumstances.

This was the difference between Jesus and His disciple's response to the adversity of the wind and waves from storm when they were in the boat on the lake. Where do you stand? Do you have the cognitive invincibility of the spiritual mind like Jesus did or do live in the fear and panic of the natural mind like the disciples did?

Mark 5:1; After the storm Jesus and His disciples continued to the east side of the lake (Sea of Galilee) into the region of the Gerasenes a mountainous, rugged, area on the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee. The Greek manuscripts do not specify the precise location.

They use three names to describe it: Gadarenes (Matt. 8:28;), Gergesenes (from Origen), and Gerasenes. The best information favors the name Gerasenes that probably refers to the small town of Gersa (modern Khersa) mostly inhabited by Gentiles. Net note 2

Mark 5:2-5; Jesus is immediately confronted by a demon possessed man who "lived in the tombs". These were cave like rooms cut into the cliff above the lake that at the time were used as tombs. These were probably similar to what you would find in the Greek islands such as Santorini that are now used as beautiful homes.

The man was uncontrollable because he was so strong from the demon possession that he had broken the restraints they used to try to restrain him. Net note 6 So he always went around terrorizing the countryside with his screams while cutting himself with sharp stones.

This a description of a violent and unrestrainable person who is completely enslaved and rendered insane by demon possession.

Mark 5:6-7; In verse 7 we have an idiom "what to me and to you" that in the Net is translated "leave me alone" Net note 9
