Heb 12:2; Rev 2:7; The doctrine of the winner part 52

Lam 3:21 -25; I recall this (doctrine) to my mind, and it gives me confidence. Because The Lord's mercy never fails; His grace provisions never cease, they are renewed every morning; Great is Your faithfulness... Therefore I have hope in Him. The Lord is good to those who wait silently on Him.

In our study of the doctrine of the winner believer. Heb 12:2; Rev 2:7; We have noted that winner believers are the unknown, unsung heroes of history. 2Cor 6:9; who are the targets of God's grace imputations and the reason that God continues to support the human race.

We are now in a segment where we are discussing the doctrine of church age spirituality that is based on the indwelling and filling ministries of God the Holy Spirit.

When we stopped last time we were noting the battle that perpetually exists between the OSN and the Holy Spirit in the believer's soul.

Gal 5:17; For the flesh (OSN) desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit is against the flesh (OSN) for these are constantly opposed to one another, so that you may not do the things you wish to do.

v18 But if the Spirit keeps on leading you and he does, you are not under the Law."

The Greek word "agesthe" that is translated "led" in the NASB is in the present tense, passive voice, and indicative mood. The indicative mood is a statement of fact so a first class condition of "if," (if and its true) is established.

The passive voice tells us that the Holy Spirit is the source of the action and the present tense tells us the action is continuous.

That is why I have translated the Greek word "agesthe" "keeps on leading you and He does."

With this in view the entire verse could be translated "If the Spirit keeps on leading you and He does you are not under the Law."

This means that it is God who maintains our freedom. We do not have the power to maintain it.

Since God keeps on providing our freedom He does not provide it for us to do anything we want to do. God provides us with the freedom to serve God.

This means We are free to learn Bible doctrine through the filling of the Holy Spirit, to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and serve the body of Christ through the use of our spiritual gift.

This divinely provided freedom that provides equal privilege and opportunity to execute God's supernatural plan that depends entirely on God's power is only provided to believers during the Church Age. Gal 3:22-28;

Walking by means of the Spirit refers to the volitional choice to apply God's Word of truth moment by moment, day by day to the circumstances of life under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.

Gal 5:22-23; "But the production of the Spirit is virtue-love, happiness, capacity for prosperity (peace), patience, integrity, generosity, faithfulness, humility, self-discipline; against such things there is no law."

Gal 5:25; "If we live by the Spirit (and we do), let us advance in an organized manner by means of the Spirit. The Greek word "stoicho" that is translated "walk" means to advance in an organized manner such as an army marching in ranks and rows.

1John 2:27; "And as for you, the anointing (enabling power of the Spirit inside the spiritual power system that God created for the new spiritual species) that you have received from Him resides in you (the indwelling of the Spirit in the body)....

...You do not need that anyone be teaching you (enabling you to understand), but His anointing keeps teaching you (enabling you to understand) all things as it (the enabling power of the Spirit) has taught you. Keep on residing in Him God's spiritual power system)."

Anointing is a synonym for the Holy Spirit's indwelling ministry that establishes the believer as a member of the new spiritual species who are members of God's royal family with the potential to fulfill God's plan.

It is not our plan, our energy, or our ability; it is enabling power that is provided exclusively by God's Word under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit that provides the ability.

It is God's plan of grace that operates on the basis of faith alone. Faith in Jesus followed by faith in God's Word of truth that comprises Jesus' thinking.

God provided the spiritual gift of pastor-teacher for the communication of the faith (doctrine) that is the mystery doctrine of the Church Age.

No matter how eloquent or powerful the pastor's message, there is no way a believer will properly understand and implement it unless they are filled with or by means of God the Holy Spirit and as a result functioning under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit inside God's spiritual power system.

This is why every Church Age believer is commanded to keep on residing inside God's spiritual power system because it is the only place where the believer can advance in God's plan under the filling ministry God of the Holy Spirit that controls the believer's thinking.

God the Holy Spirit does not control the thinking of any believer who is operating under OSN control of the soul outside of God's spiritual power system.

1John 3:3-9; "And everyone who keeps having this confidence in Him purifies himself just as that unique Person (humanity of Christ inside the prototype spiritual power system) is pure.

v4 Every believer who commits sin also does lawlessness; in fact, sin is lawlessness.

v5 Indeed you know that He ( the Lord Jesus Christ) was revealed in order that He might carry away our sins; in fact, there is no sin in Him.

v6 When anyone resides in Him (the Lord Jesus Christ), he is does not sin. When anyone sins, he has not seen Him nor come to know Him.

v7 My dear children, let no one deceive you; when anyone performs righteousness, he is righteous just as He ( Jesus Christ) is righteous.

1John 3:8; Anyone who commits sin is an agent of the devil because the devil (the inventor of sin) sinned from the beginning. For this reason, the Son of God was revealed that He might destroy the works of the devil.

v9 Everyone who is born from God is able not sin (pose non peccare) because His seed ( the enabling power of God the Holy Spirit that begins to function at the moment of regeneration) keeps on residing in him with that result that he keeps on receiving the power not to sin (from God's spiritual power system) because he has been born from God."

The word that is translated "cannot " in the NASB is the present passive indicative of the Greek word "dynati" from the root dynamai that means to receive the power that provides the ability.

This explains that the believer receives the power and ability to choose not to sin exclusively from God the Holy Spirit.

This power or ability is available from the moment a person believes in Jesus Christ because his human spirit is regenerated and from that moment every believer is indwelled with and has the potential to comply with God's mandate to keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit.
